Salmon Run 2018

Registration is closed for this event

A springtime fundraiser that Woolman has hosted from 2000-2008, and is back this year! The event will act as a fundraiser that benefits the Woolman Outdoor School, fosters collaboration with other NGO’s and promotes knowledge of watershed resiliency within our community (as part of know your watershed week!). The Salmon run is a 10K race. The course follows Jones Bar Road on its 2-mile descent to the banks of the Wild and Scenic South Yuba River. From the river, participants ascend a steep section of the course along the salmon ladder where it meets the independence trail. The course then loops back towards Jones Bar road meeting the road halfway to the top. The course finishes where it started. Participants will enjoy incredible views, wildflowers, and challenging, diverse terrain. Upon completion, participants return to Sierra Friends Center for brunch, silent auction, awards ceremony, and family activities. Donation based childcare with environmental activities will be provided by Sierra Streams Institute during the race. This event will be part of the Know Your Watershed Week collaborative that is being piloted this spring from April 28th- May 6th.
